BALTIC TRANSIT
Latvian-born American flute player Ilona Kudiņa’s BALTIC TRANSIT is a collaboration with accomplished Latvian jazz musicians and local Boston musicians. Voyage of Ilona’s flute sounds and compositions express passion, humor, and skepsis, as well as Latgalian folk motifs from Ilona’s land of birth. Created in 2017, BALTIC TRANSIT has performed at Ryles Jazz Club, Cambridge, Mass., the Brimmer and May School, Chestnut Hill, Mass., Baltic community events in the Boston area as well as jazz clubs and jazz festivals (Saulkrasti Jazz Festival and Baltic Jazz Festival “Škiuņa džezs”) in Latvia. In the summer of 2022, BALTIC TRANSIT released an album (available on Bandcamp )
